Hetsika: Virtual Winds is an online platform in the form of a residency that aims to connect artists throughout the Indian Ocean with continental Africa via Madagascar. The website offers online residencies and supports experimentation and connectivity through the arts. Through this virtual platform Hetsika: Virtual Winds brings together artists who exist amongst the many peripheries that exist around water and land such borders, language, and culture. By participating, the artists are offering alternative ways of conversing through a visual and sonic language of their own making. In true Malagasy style, artists are invited to experiment in free self-expression with different forms of digital art, on a topic set by the curator. Virtual Winds is a collaborative project between Is'Art Gellerie and ANAE, supported by Pro Helvetia mobility funding
